I am a Clinical Psychologist specializing in Pediatric Neuropsychology and licensed to practice in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I received specialized training in pediatric neuropsychology as a clinical psychology doctoral student at the University of Florida and during Clinical Internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In addition, I completed a two-year Pediatric Neuropsychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Florida.
Prior to opening my private practice in Connecticut, I was a staff pediatric neuropsychologist for over 15 years at Rhode Island Hospital and Bradley Hospital, part of the Lifespan health system in Rhode Island. During that time I was also a faculty member in the Neuropsychology training program at the Warren Alpert Medical School for Brown University, acting as the primary clinical supervisor to pediatric neuropsychology post-doctoral fellows for 10 years. Sine 2014, I have been the consulting neuropsychologist for the Providence Bruins hockey team (minor league affiliate team of the Boston Bruins), a role I maintain.
My training background also includes extensive experience providing psychotherapy to children and their families coping with a broad range of pediatric medical conditions, as well to address a variety of childhood behavioral disturbances, including Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Mood Disorder, Autism, and common behavioral problems (e.g., sleep, feeding, noncompliance, aggression, toileting).
While I no longer provide traditional psychotherapy services, I bring a therapeutic approach to neuropsychological practice. I aim to provide a positive testing experience for children/adolescents/young adults, foster trusting relationships with families, and present evaluation findings to families in a straightforward/understandable, educational, collaborative, and compassionate manner.
